Why Frachta invoices can't be edited after issue
Frachta keeps every issued invoice untouched, using deletion or credit notes to fix mistakes so your numbering and audit trail stay intact.
In /tms/invoices, Frachta treats every issued invoice as a fixed, unchangeable record rather than a document you can keep tweaking after the fact. Once an invoice has been issued, its content cannot be edited directly, so the figures, dates and details that you and your customers first see are the ones that stay on file for good, with nothing quietly altered later.
If you issue an invoice and then notice straight away that it has not yet been sent to the customer, you are free to simply delete it from /tms/invoices and raise a fresh one in its place with the correct details. Because the original never reached anyone outside your own business, there is no confusion to untangle and nothing to explain on the other side.
Once an invoice has already been sent, or once it has been paid, deletion stops being the right tool for fixing a mistake. Instead, you open the invoice in /tms/invoices and issue a credit note against it to cancel out the error, and then, if a replacement is still needed, you raise a corrected invoice to take its place with the correct figures.
This two-track approach keeps your invoice numbering continuous from the first invoice you ever issue to the latest one. Every number that has been issued stays accounted for somewhere in the sequence, either as a valid invoice still standing or as a credit note clearly tied back to the invoice it corrects, so no number simply disappears or gets reused by mistake.
It saves you from the far messier situation where an invoice gets quietly edited after a customer, or a tax authority, has already seen the first version, leaving two different versions of what is supposed to be the same document in circulation at once, with nothing on file to show what was changed, by whom, or when it happened.
