Track Tyre Wear Per Axle in Fleet Maintenance

Record real tread measurements per axle position so tyre replacement is planned from data, not guesswork.

The maintenance section of Frachta tracks every tyre on a vehicle by its exact axle position, rather than treating tyres as one generic set, so you always know the real condition of each individual position instead of relying on a single average guess for the whole axle set.

To use it, open /fleet/maintenance, select the vehicle you want to check, and choose the specific axle position, for example front left or rear right. Take a real tread measurement with your gauge and enter that figure for the position you've just checked, and the reading is saved directly against that position's record.

As you keep adding measurements over weeks and months, each axle position builds its own wear graph, showing how the tread depth has actually changed over time rather than how you remember it. This makes it easy to see at a glance which position is wearing faster than the others on the same vehicle, and by how much.

When a tyre is rotated to a different axle position, or taken off and replaced with a new one, its measurement history travels with it rather than being lost or reset. That means the wear record for that physical tyre stays intact no matter where it ends up on the vehicle.

Because the wear graph is built from real measurements rather than from a quick look or a rough feeling about how a tyre seems to be holding up, replacement can be planned from actual data for that position, well ahead of time rather than at the last minute.

This saves you from the situation where a worn tyre is only noticed once it's already causing a problem on the road, or where a perfectly good tyre gets replaced early simply because nobody had a clear record of how it had actually been wearing.
