Check a counterparty before you trust them

A company check verifies a counterparty against VIES, sanctions lists, EORI and Polish registries, then saves the report for free re-reading.

Before you agree to work with a company you've never dealt with before, you want more than a gut feeling that they are legitimate — you want to know they are properly registered, that their VAT number is valid, and that they don't appear on any sanctions list. This feature turns that question into a documented answer you can show to anyone who asks.

To run it, open the exchange section and go to Companies, which you'll find at /freight/companies. Enter the details of the counterparty you want to check, then start the check from there.

The check validates the company against VIES for its VAT number, against the EU, UN and OFAC sanctions lists, against EORI, and against the Polish MF and KRS registries. Once it's done, the results are written into a structured report, rather than scattered across browser tabs and screenshots that are easy to lose or forget.

Because that report is saved inside Frachta, you don't have to run the same check twice. If a colleague needs the same counterparty checked next month, or if a customer or auditor asks you to prove you did your due diligence, you can simply open the saved report and re-read it, without paying for the check again.

This saves you from the situation where a load has already left the yard before anyone realises the counterparty's VAT number was never valid, or that their name turns up on a sanctions list — by then there is no easy way back, and no record that anyone checked at all.
